7 May 2005 Event at Gyuto Vajrayana CenterVen. Donyo, the Founder and Director of the Gyuto Vajrayana Center in San Jose has requested that His Holiness come to San Jose and give teachings. His Holiness has agreed to come to the Bay Area as requested by Ven. Donyo in 2007. The date and details of this visit have not yet been finalized. We will let you know as soon as they are. To make this a successful event we will need a great deal of help and support. If you can make it to our first planning meeting we will be very glad to see you. If you cannot attend or live outside the area please contact us and we will give you all the latest information.Please read the full text of Ven. Donyo's message below. Incredible News from Ven. Thupten Donyo! In March of this year I went to Dharamsala, India for Gyuto Tantric Monastery’s inauguration ceremony with HH the Dalai Lama. I returned from India with some amazing news for the Gyuto Center community – and the entire Bay Area. During the inauguration ceremony I humbly requested our Abbot to take this precious opportunity to personally invite His Holiness the Dalai Lama to San Jose. The Abbot approached him and incredibly, His Holiness has compassionately agreed to come to San Jose at the request of the Gyuto Vajrayana Center in 2007! At this point we are working with His Holiness’ private office for an official schedule. Once we receive confirmation from the private office we will be able to finalize the date. This is a very auspicious and historic occasion and a source of great blessings for the entire Bay Area. During this visit it is anticipated that His Holiness will be giving teachings, blessings and a public talk. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be turning 70 this year and this may be the only opportunity we have to host His Holiness in San Jose. Although Gyuto Center is a very small center we have a very big heart and the sincere aspiration to bring the Buddha's precious teachings to the greater community. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our Dharma community and our commitment to the Dharma. Please help us in whatever you can. Planning Meeting We are planning a general meeting on May 21st at 3 p.m. and we are inviting each and every one of our members and anyone else who would like to help with His Holiness’ visit to San Jose.
