Hone undertakes the Tara practice with a sincere motivation it is especially effective for lengthening one's lifespan. It is also an excellent practice for a person who has many virtuous missions to accomplish. There are no commitments, but no black food to be taken before the empowerment such as meet, garlic onion and alcohol. Everyone is welcome and it is free but members can bring flowers and candles for offering. If you are interested, please register (408) 926 9430. Please note that this event will take place at DharmaGates Center. Vajrasattva Empowerment: Vajrasattva is the main deity in Tibetan Buddhism for the practice of purification. All four schools of Tibetan Buddhism include recitation of the One Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva, often for at least one hundred thousand times, in their preliminary practices. There are no commitments, but no black food to be taken before the empowerment such as meet, garlic onion and alcohol. Everyone is welcome and it is free. Please note that this event will take place at DharmaGates Center. Rinpoche's Farewell Potluck Party: Sadly, Ven. Dhakpa Rinpoche will be returning to India after many month's busy schedules at the center. We are very grateful to Rinpoche for his three extended visits to San Jose and we pray for his long life. We also wish Ven. Losang great success in all of his endeavors because without Ven. Losang's full time assistance it will be very difficult for Rinpoche. Ven. Losang has been very kind to the members and I'm sure many members will miss him. Rinpoche will depart San Francisco on December 28th by China Airlines and everyone is welcome to say goodbye to Rinpoche, Ven. Jampa and Ven. Losang at the San Francisco Airport.
