4 October 2003 Event at Gyuto Vajrayana CenterDear Friends,The New Center We have now moved into our new home and have the gompa and altars set up. I would like to thank everyone who has helped us. It has been a real labor of love and has taken a lot of work by many dedicated friends. We are now ready to have our first Tsog! Guru Puja and Tsog offering Sunday, October 5th. at 10:00 AM Everyone is welcome. Special Event October 12th Sunday, 6:00 PM. There will be a party at the new Center which will be both a House warming party for all our friends and supporters and also a birthday party for Rinpoche! He will be 78 years old and as far as we know he has never celebrated it before. We hope to make it a very memorable occasion for him. This will also be the farewell party for Rinpoche and Lobsang as they will be leaving for India in October. In saying goodbye to Rinpoche and thanking him for being with us we also want Rinpoche to agree to become our permanent resident teacher and return to us in San Jose as soon as possible. It is expected that he will return in June 2004. We look forward to seeing you and your family at this special event! Please bring a dish to share. Yamantaka retreat Due to the house renovation we postponed the Yamantaka retreat until November and we'll send out more information about the retreat later. The retreat will still be three weeks long and there will be only 20 - 25 people accepted. There will be $300 donation per person to cover the cost of three weeks retreat. Please see the website for more details and if interested please call Ven. Donyo for registration. Ven. Lobsang Dorjee Rinpoche We have invited the former Abbot of Gyuto Monastery Ven. Lobsang Dorjee Rinpoche to return to the Gyuto Center for six months and we expect him to arrive at the beginning of December. Once Rinpoche has arrived we will begin a new series of teachings. If you have any requests for teachings please let me know. We are very fortunate to have such qualified teachers with us and we should not waste these precious opportunities.
