At the end of each day’s teachings there will be a question and answer period with Geshe-la

We are very pleased to announce that Ven. Geshe Tsultim

Gyeltsen from Long Beach, California has agreed to come to the Gyuto Center and teach in February. Geshe-la will be teaching “The Eight Verses for Training the Mind” by Kadam Geshe Langri Tangpa.

There are no fees for the teachings but donations are most welcome.

Geshe-la was born in 1924 in the Kham province of eastern Tibet. When he was sixteen, Geshe-la left for Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, to study for his Geshe degree at Gaden Shartse Monastery in Lhasa. Geshe-la received the highest degree of Lharampa Geshe and later joined the Gyuto Monastery for further tantric studies.

Geshe-la is the spiritual director and founder of Thubten Dhargye Ling, in Long Beach and he is also on the Board of Directors of the Gyuto center since the Center started. Geshe-la is the author of “Compassion: The Key to Great Awakening”, a commentary on the Eight Verses of Training the Mind and the Thirty-seven Practices of a Bodhisattva, and a free book on emptiness, “Mirror of Wisdom”. He has hosted His Holiness the Dalai Lama 5 times and he will be hosting His Holiness again in September 2006 in Long Beach.

Parking concerns around the Center:

Please be so kind to park your car a few blocks away from the Center. You can park your car on Gyuto Center's property either on the front driveway or behind the Center parking lot. Please do not block our neighbors' driveways. If you can please car pool because we want to reduce traffic around the house. We thank you very much for your kind consideration.

Thank You!

Ven. Thupten Donyo
