Your Words or Action In Life

Event at Gyuto Vajrayana Center

Dear Friends,

Six Armed Mahakala Puja
February 27th
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The venerable Gyuto monks will be performing a special Mahakala puja dedicated to the Center's members, friends and all sentient beings.

Mahakala is a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, Buddha of

compassion. The main role of Mahakala is to fulfill the four enlightened activities of pacifying interferences, increasing favorable circumstances, gaining control over situations and if all else fails destroying obstacles with wrathful force.

Farewell to the venerable monks

This puja will be a special version of the Mahakala puja to wish our resident monks a safe trip as they return to the Gyuto monastery in India and to welcome our new resident venerable monks, Ven. Tseten, Ven. Sonam, and Ven Tashi.

The Mahakala puja always begins with the Yamantaka Sadhana. The Sadhana takes approximately one hour to recite. If you are short of time you can arrive at 10:00 AM for the main section of the Mahakala puja. Members will be reciting the Mahakala mantra while the monks are performing the puja.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of our members to join this very special Mahakala puja to thank all the venerable monks who have supported me so that our Center can share the Dharma with our community. I would also like to thank all of the members who have helped the monks in so many ways; they have been teaching English, working with our computers, helping in the kitchen, cleaning, buying the groceries, driving and offering their time and assistance.

Pot luck lunch

After the puja there will be a pot luck lunch with the venerable monks.

Everyone is welcome and I hope you can all attend.

Thank You!

Ven. Thupten Donyo
