28 February Event at Gyuto Vajrayana Center

Dear Friends,

Here are our next three events:
Eight Verses of Mind Training (Part 2)
Geshe Langri Tangpa’s “Lo-Jong Tsig-gya Ma”
Sunday, February 29th
10 am – 12 pm

Ven. Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Dorjee continues his profound teachings on the Lo-Jong, practical methods for overcoming self-cherishing and cultivating the compassionate Bodhicitta motivation. The actual practice of mind training can be traced back to the Buddha Shakyamuni and is commonly practiced in all Tibetan Buddhist traditions. For those who missed Part 1, student notes of the teaching are available on the website.

Guru Puja, Tsog Offering:
Monday, March 1st
7 pm to 8 pm

Twice monthly, based on the lunar calendar, the practice of Tsog Offering is done. It is a commitment for those practicing tantra to restore and reaffirm their vows and pledges. Everyone is welcome to attend this ritual of making offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Those participating can bring offerings, such as tea, candles, cookies, fruit, and flowers.

White Tara Retreat for Long life and Prosperity:
Friday, March 5th (evening)
Saturday, March 6th
Sunday, March 7th

Venerable Khensur Lobsang Dorjee Rinpoche will be leading the two day Tara retreat. This will be the Gyuto Center’s only White Tara retreat for 2004. The retreat is nearly full. For those of you who wish to attend please register as soon as possible before space runs out.

Additional information on the retreat will be in our next email.

If you have any questions regarding these events please call me at (408) 926 9430 or send me an email.

Thank you,

Ven. Thupten Donyo
