21 Sept 2004 Event at Gyuto Vajrayana Center
Dear Friends,
On Saturday, Sept 11th the Gyuto Vajrayana Center in San Jose, hosted a dinner as a show
of appreciation for the great lamas who have dedicated their lives to bringing the authentic
teachings of the Buddha Dharma to the world and here to the Bay Area. The lamas in
attendance where Dhakpa Tulku Rinpoche, Khensur Rinpoche, Arjia Rinpoche and Geshe Ngawang
Drakpa. Also, many sangha members from the local Dharma Centers joined us for the dinner.
After prayers for peace and compassions towards all beings, the former abbot of Gyuto
Monastery, Ven. Lobsang Dorjee Rinpoche, gave a short talk on the importance of forgiveness
and harmony between all people of the world. The enthusiasm for the event was so high
that the event was sold out and we had to increase the number of seats from 280 to 325.
All the lamas expressed their pleasure at seeing so many people from different Dharma
Centers come together and have such an enjoyable evening.
As a result of the event we were able to make a charitable donation to a local community center.
Many people worked very hard to organize this event and make it such a great success.
We would like to thank all the people who supported the event and all those who attended.
As a result I believe we were able to show our lamas our sincere appreciation and
gratitude for their commitment to teaching the Dharma.
