The Path to Bliss (Lamrim Teaching)
The Lamrim is a special set of instructions that includes all the essential teachings of the Buddha. These instructions are easy to understand and practice, and can readily be applied to solving the problems of everyday life. Rinpoche will be giving this teaching every other Thursday night and everyone is welcome. There are no fees for the teachings but donations are most welcome.
Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life:
These teachings on the bodhisattva's deeds are based on the great Indian master Shantideva's inspirational verses on Mahayana aspiration and practice. In the whole of Tibetan Buddhism there is no single text more deeply revered nor widely practiced than this one. Everyone is welcome.
All the teachings will be translated into the Chinese and Vietnamese language. Those wishing translation services should bring their own FM radio. All the teachings are free but any amount of donation will be greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome.
Four-Armed Chenrezig Empowerment:
Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) is the embodiment of all the Buddhas' infinite compassion. Reciting his six syllable mantra OM MANI PADME HUNG every day with strong faith and devotion will help us develop love and compassion. Receiving this empowerment is a prerequisite for those students who wish to do the fasting retreat or the Nyung-Nye practice. Please avoid meat, alcohol, garlic, onion and eggs before the empowerment. Everyone is welcome. This event will take place at the DharmaGates, Center.
Second Annual Lama Appreciation Dinner:
Last year's Lama Appreciation Dinner was such a success we have decided to make it an annual event in order to help 'support the flourishing of the Dharma in Silicon Valley. We are inviting head Lamas from all four traditions of Tibetan Buddhism: including Choden Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Arjia Rinpoche, Lama Kunga Rinpoche, Lama Lodo Rinpoche and Ven. Geshe Ngawang Dakpa as well as many Sangha members from different Dharma Centers around the Bay Area. Once again it will take place at Ming's Restaurant in Palo Alto and we would like to request all of our members and friends to join this fundraising event for Gyuto Vajrayana Center.
We hope that you will be able to join this event on Saturday, November 12, at 6 pm - 9 pm along with your friends and family. There will be a delicious ten "course vegetarian meal, a short dharma talk and music. For ordering tickets please call (408) 926 9430 or send email to:info@gyutocenter.org
