GYUTO CENTER PROGRAMS:
October 2004 & special events in November and December
Venerable Dhakpa Tulku Rinpoche
The October and November programs are Rinpoche’s last sequence of teachings for 2004
PROGRAM OUTLINE
Teachings and Initiations by Venerable Dhakpa Tulku Rinpoche
The Seven Point Mind Training and Tong Len (Taking and Giving)
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been quoted as saying that there are two
principal methods of generating Bodhicitta, The Seven Point Mind Training
and Tong Len, the method of Taking and Giving.
Dhakpa Rinpoche will give a teaching that combines these two
profound methods. Everyone is welcome.
Commentary on the Mandala Offering:
The mandala is both the purified circle of an enlightened being and a
symbol of our universe. The student visualizes that our universe represents
all its riches and all of our virtues and positive karma. We then offer
this to Buddhas and the enlightened beings and ask for their blessings.
Vajrasattva Commentary and Retreat:
We will be holding a Vajrasattva commentary followed a three day retreat.
Retreat space is limited. Registration is essential. All the teachings are
free but we request a $60 per person donation to cover the cost of hosting
the retreat. More details will be on our website and in our email announcements.
Vajrasattva is the main deity in Tibetan Buddhism for the practice of
purification. All four schools of Tibetan Buddhism include in their preliminary
practices the recitation of the One Hundred Syllable Mantra of Vajrasattva
often for at least one hundred thousand times. The recitation of this
profound mantra is said to purify all negative habitual patterns of behavior
and remove obstructions from our spiritual practice and the attainment of
realizations. The Vajrasattva mantra recitation is also used to purify broken
vows particularly for those following the tantric path.

opportunity for students to join the retreat with the Venerable monks. We will

Yamantaka Sadhana followed by the Yamantaka mantra recitation in silent meditation.

order to cover the cost of the food and the Fire Puja ingredients. Lunch and
breakfast will be served every day during the 17 day retreat. All the retreatrants
will leave the Center after the session each day and return to the Center in the morning.
