18 September 2004 Event at Gyuto Vajrayana CenterDear Friends,We invite all of you to attend this event. Saturday, 25th Amitabha Buddha Empowerment 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Ven. Dhakpa Tulku Rinpoche will give the Amitabha Buddha Empowerment. Amitabha Buddha, whose name means Infinite or Boundless Light, is the principal deity of Sukhavati, the Blissful Pure Land of the West. Buddha Shakyamuni revealed that this pure land came into existence as a result of the stainless motivation and pure practices of Amitabha when, long ago, he was known as the bodhisattva Dharmakara. In another context, he is the embodiment of the enlightened speech of all the Buddhas. Ven. Dhakpa Rinpoche has kindly agreed to confer the Amitabha Buddha empowerment for students to receive the blessings and practice of this particular Buddha. Benefit of taking the Amitabha Buddha Empowerment. Once you receive the Amitabha empowerment you will be close to the Buddha Amitabha. When one recites the mantra of the Buddha Amitabha mantra it is equal in benefit to reciting one thousand of the Buddha's mantras. It also said that reciting the Amitabha mantra will purify one’s negativities which we been accumulated for many eons. As an ordinary person it is very difficult to reach enlightenment but if one has strong faith and devotion towards the Buddha Amitabha anyone will reach Amitabha’s pure land in this life time. One of the Sutras said that if one practices well with the right motivation, faithful devotees of Amitabha will be born in the pure land after their death and receive teachings form Amitabha himself and countless other Buddhas. Experiencing none of the sufferings of cyclic existence and forever freed from sufferings they will eventually attain Buddhahood. This teaching will be translated from Chinese to English. Please bring an FM radio for those who are not Chinese. There is no commitment to take with this empowerment and no fees to attend the teachings. There is no registration required.
