On Memorial Day weekend Gyuto Center is hosting our annual Nyung-Ney Retreat:

Month of Saka Dawa Nyung-Ney
(Fasting Retreat)

Saturday-Sunday, May 29-30 from 6:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, May 31 at 7:00 am – 10:00 am

Prerequisite: All participants must have received Chenrezig Empowerment or any other initiations.

There is no space for the participants to stay overnight at the Center and all participants have to go home for the night and return in the morning.



Nyung-Ne is an effective practice for purifying our negativities. The practice was revealed by Bhikshuni Phalmo, a practitioner who suffered from leprosy. She performed this practice for 12 years in conjunction with Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) practice and became a great Siddhi, attaining the Celestial Body.

The retreat course involves powerful practices of purification such as periods of fasting, prostrations, and silence. Practitioners will also recite the six syllable Mantra OM MANI PED ME HUNG. This mantra purifies the six seeds of the six realms within oneself and has the effect of pacifying the suffering of all beings. Registration

Parking at the Gyuto Center
Please park in our driveway or on our side of the street so you do not block our neighbors' driveways. We work very hard to maintain a positive relationship with our neighbors.
