14 December 2003 Event at Gyuto Vajrayana Center

Dear Friends,

The Gyuto Monks will perform two Tsogs in December at the Gyuto Center

Thursday, December 18th at 7pm
Tsog Offering and Guru Puja
An offering to our gurus.

Twice a month, based on the lunar calendar, the practice of Tsog offering is done. It is a commitment for those practicing tantra to restore and reaffirm their vows and pledges. However, anyone and everyone is welcome to attend this ritual of making extensive offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, accumulating the positive energy needed to progress along the spiritual path.

Those participating can bring offerings such as food or flowers. The ritual and offering takes approximately one hour.

Lama Tsong Khapa Day

The 18th is also Lama Tsong Khapa Day when we celebrate the anniversary of this great Tibetan master. Tsong Khapa (1357-1419) was the founder of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhist and of Gaden Monastery and wrote the seminal text, "The Lam Rim Chenmo".

Monday, December 22nd at 10am
Mahakala Puja

Khensur Rinpoche has said that he wants to offer a Mahakala Puja in order to benefit all sentient beings. Mahakala is the principle protector deity of the Gelugpa School and removes all obstacles and hindrances to achieving the spiritual path.

For those attending please remember to park carefully to respect our neighbors.

We look forward to seeing you

Ven. Thupten Donyo
